Sandusky Case Gets Attention  - Details

Recently accused former Penn State football coach Jerry Sandusky recently decided to waive his preliminary hearing in which he would have a right to confront his accusers and this move has been considered an odd one according to a NYC criminal defense lawyer who says that the former coach definitely passed up what could have been an opportunity to mount is own defense by deciding to waive the hearing. Unfortunately, waiving the hearing might also have been his best option as the courtroom would have been packed while listening to Sandusky's accusers take the stand to testify.

Crimes in Ottawa down Five Percent  - Details

Recent statistics suggest that crimes in Ottawa are down by five percent since 2009 with a total of 37,579 crimes committed in 2009 and 39,462 crimes committed in 2010 which represents a decrease of almost 5% for the year. Although this equates to at least a hundred crimes a day which will no doubt keep Ottawa criminal lawyers busy, at least seventeen of the city's twenty-three wards saw an abatement of crime over the past year. Also down in many districts was the rate of violent crime which fell by six percent due to fewer robberies.
